Mon River Rail-Trail
Upgrades on trail mile 24-29
Drainage and resurfacing work is underway
on Mile 24-29 of the
Mon River
Rail-Trail. This
section extends from
mile 24 at the
Opekiska Trailhead
to mile 29 at
Pricketts Fort State
Park. This work,
which involves
culvert upgrades,
ditch work, tree
trimming, and
resurfacing, is
expected to continue
through the month of
November. It will
restore the
compacted limestone
surface to its
original 10ft.
width. The
rail-trail will
remain open for use
but please be alert
in the work zone and
make sure the
equipment operator
sees you before
going through active
work areas. There
may be delays or
closure while
resurfacing work is
taking place.
