=============
Hi everyone,
Hope you are having a good start to the week.

Thank you to all that attended the ribbon-cutting for the Uffington Connector at the WV DNR Uffington River access parking lot. Whether you attended or not PLEASE share a few thoughts on how you value this connection so that I can relay this in reports to our funders. I greatly appreciate your feedback! and would need by this Thursday, August 7.

Storm damage repairs will likely start TOMORROW (Tuesday) on the Deckers Creek Rail-Trail between Summer School Road (mile 4.5) and Masontown (mile 13.5). You may encounter contractor, Mountain Valley Resources, working on ditch, culvert, and surface repairs. Make sure equipment operator sees you. We will be replacing two culverts so there may be times that trail is closed.  I will post as soon as I am sure when the work will take place.

Thanks, Ella

Hi everyone,
Feel free to share this news-

1) A new trailhead and connector path is OPEN at the WV Division of Resources Uffington Monongahela River Access site! We will be celebrating with a ribbon-cutting on Wednesday, July 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the trailhead. All are welcome to come out for this ceremony marking this newest trail amenity at Mon River Rail-Trail mile 13.5.  Light refreshments will be served.

Thank You! to our Contractor, Mountain Valley Resources; our Partners, West Virginia Division of Natural Resources and the WV Division of Multimodal Transportation Facilities; and our Funders, The Oakland Foundation, major donors Stephen Wetmore and Mary Wimmer, the West Virginia Land Trust co-host of the Blue Jean Ball Fundraiser, Central Supply Company of West Virginia, and donors to the Mon River Trails Conservancy!

2) Storm damage- as many of you know by now, we had lots of storm damage from Sunday’s rain. One of the worst spots was between city limits and Uffington (mile 11-13) with mud and debris across the trail and several waterfall areas filled with debris.  I do not recommend biking through unless you are willing to get you and bike muddy.  We will be working on a fix in the coming days and weeks.  You can see some photos at- https://www.facebook.com/monrivertrails

Other problem spots- mile 7 in arboretum, in mile 1 of Deckers, up from Summer School Road on Deckers, and at overhang rock on Deckers. Thank you for your support as we try to return our rail-trail to good condition.

Cheers, Ella
