The response was mixed. Some people were happy for him. Others were confused by what he was saying. A few people laughed at him and told him publicly but, recently, he has discovered that some people, including family members, were mocking him on social media.

Now Joe, much like the rest of the world, had no idea that coming to Jesus would mean having to battle the devil and a load of demons! That seems a little bit weird and also terrifying at the same time. But, it is important for Joe to know the full story of the spiritual battle that he has now signed up for.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

These truths will help Joe see that what he is experiencing is not new. It is not unique to him. Every single Christian in history has been through it. And every single Christian in the world is battling the enemy every single day of their lives. Joe needs to understand that this swirl of emotions he is caught in is a perfectly natural reaction to what is going on in his life.

God has not left us to fend for ourselves in coming up with a battle plan. Just as it is with our salvation, God has richly provided us with everything we need for life and godliness. This means that everything we need to be godly and and continue growing in our relationship with God has been given to us, including what we need to be found victorious in our spiritual war.

This is my entry for #archdruidcontest "most prized gaming possession" contest.
I recently completed this milestone in World of Warcraft, and like my zookeeper title it has been years in the making.

For those who don't know "pet battling" is a mini game within the World of Warcraft very much like Pokemon.
You collect pets from many sources within the game: world drops, boss drops, capturing within a pet battle, vendors, crafting, and achievements.
Each one of your pets can be renamed, leveled from 1-25, and given a slot on your pet battling team.
The rarest pets command some of the highest gold prices in the game, and some of them, like Stardust are one of a kind, and show other pet collectors just how dedicated you are.

This journey begins with the raid bosses of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion: collecting 16 unique pets which drop from the raid bosses of that expansion.
=11320/raiding-with-leashes-iv-wrath-of-the-lick-king
Each of the pets has an around 1-10% drop rate, so be ready to run these raids quite a few times.
Of course, each raid has a "lockout" that makes it so they can only give you loot once a week, so also be prepared for this to take months to years to complete.

Once you win your final pet in the list (for me it was the wicked soul which drops from 25 man heroic Lich King) you will get a celestial invitation in the mail to battle Algalon in a pet battle.
For those not familiar with World of Warcraft lore, Algalon is a celestial analyst of sorts, working for the creators of Azeroth, who for a brief moment was not sure whether Azeroth deserved a continued existence or whether it should be "reprocessed."

For me, the Algalon fight, in the Ulduar raid, is the most visually stunning boss fight in the game, and I'm glad that I still need a mount from Ulduar, since getting to see it over and over is definitely a highlight to my gaming time.
However, after reconsidering and deciding that we weren't so bad after all (since our love of collecting pets has made us relatable to this celestial collector) Algalon has put together his crack team of celestial pets, and invited you to battle him!
I pulled up with my beefy arsenal of level 25 pets on my recently won astral cloud serpent mount (1% drop chance from Mogu'shan Vaults) and expected to have this encounter knocked out fairly quickly.
3 days later................

So, I'd recommend, regardless of what team composition you choose: come stocked with lots of pet bandages, and even more patience.
Algalon's team hits like trucks, and basically two lucky crits from his pets will make the match unwinnable.
The team I used was 1) Zandalari Kneebiter 2) Murkidan 3) Emerald Protowhelp
Open with the Kneebiter's black claw and hunting party - he will die, so bring in Murkidan and finish off Comet.
Use Murkidan's nether gate to forcibly swap in Constellatius.
Constellatius will cast Apocalypse.
Swap the Emerald Protowhelp in and last the next 12 rounds by self-healing. Don't miss a heal.
Swap Murkidan back in to die on the 12th round, and when Apocalypse kills Constellatius as well, that will leave a 1v1 of the Protowhelp vs Cosmos.
This is where you just have to hope that Cosmos does not get lucky crits and that you can down it in time before your health gets ground down, even spamming both heal abilities nonstop.
PSA: this isn't the ONLY way to beat this fight - it is just what worked for me.

But, when you beat it, what a satisfying feeling!
And best of all, you get possibly the most unique pet in the game.
As if being a rabbit made out of stardust wasn't enough, this pet will frequently turn into a comet, fly up into the sky, zoom around, and then come plunging back to earth in a shower of stars.
How cool is that?

So, I think this makes it pretty clear why this is now my most valued gaming possession.
And you should go get yours as well!
I think this one has a bit more lasting uniqueness due to some of the rare mounts, which you might find out, just aren't that rare when there are so many other determined collectors in the game.

I'm not really into reading gaming posts, but you made this interesting. I don't think I could commit to that sort of dedication, but it's fascinating to know that games can keep going for that length of time.

There's a lot of ways to play this game. The most well-known and popular way is the "gear grind" where you are constantly playing end-game content in order to beat harder levels of: end-game content.
However, I run a guild of players who plays "hardcore casual," where we spend our time hunting down pets, fishing, re-playing old content on alts, and enjoying chatting together. So, no commitment or expectations, just people enjoying one another's company in a game we like =)

While many folks like to interpret these commands as admonitions to the trembling hearts standing, kneeling or falling on their face before the Angel of the Lord or begging to be delivered from a perilous situation, I think they are an invitation.

I will bless the Eternal, whose wise teaching orchestrates my days
and centers my mind at night.
8 He is ever present with me;
at all times He goes before me.
I will not live in fear or abandon my calling
because He stands at my right hand.

In fact, I struggled with fear of the dark until I was nearly 40 years old. I only overcame that fear when necessity forced me to face it and I walked out trembling reciting every verse I could remember about not being afraid.

Jesus was tempted in all ways, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15). If our perfect Lord was tempted, then we should find ourselves identifying with him and knowing then that our temptation is not separating us from Jesus, but uniting us with him.

In Matthew 4 we see Jesus being tempted by Satan. With every temptation we see Jesus resist the devil and draw near to God, through his Word. He responds each time to the temptation by quoting passages from Deuteronomy. One of the greatest ways to cultivate more intimate worship is to know the Word of God. By knowing his Word, we are then able to identify temptation, resist the devil, and draw near to God by following his truth.

God will always provide you a way out. In 1 Corinthians 10:13, Paul encourages his reader by reminding them that they are not alone in their temptation, but God always provides a way of escape. Therefore, look for the exit sign that God has promised to provide and run through it.

Knowing and enjoying God is one of the greatest aims of worship. We do not have to separate ourselves from him in our temptation, or even our sin. Instead, we can draw near to our understanding Lord who is able to sympathize with and redeem us. Ultimately, his grace is sufficient and covers our past, present, and future sins. So, this battle is for our freedom and joy in Christ, and not a battle over our salvation. That alone has been secured in Jesus. Next time you face temptation, think of it as an invitation to worship.

On the morning of September 13, 1862, Union soldiers on a skirmish line near Frederick, Maryland, found what appeared to be an official Confederate document and immediately took it to their commander, who sent it up the Union chain of command. This document, known to history as Special Orders 191, gave the Union commander General George B. McClellan crucial information about the location and future movement of Confederate commander General Robert E. Lee's army. Armed with the information in Orders 191, McClellan set his own army in motion and precipitated the Battles of South Mountain and Antietam.

Two years later in July 1864, the Battle of Monocacy was fought in the same fields where the Confederate army was camped in 1862, and where Special Orders 191 was written and ultimately found by Union soldiers. Although Monocacy National Battlefield's primary purpose is to preserve and protect the site of the Battle of Monocacy, other events including those associated with Special Orders 191 are interpreted.

Taking advantage of the Confederate victory at Second Manassas in late August 1862, General Robert E. Lee led his army across the Potomac River into Maryland, intent on drawing the Union army away from Washington and into a battle he believed he could win. By taking the war into the North and winning a battle there, Lee hoped to damage Union morale and encourage antiwar sentiment in the North. With a victory on Union soil, he also hoped to encourage the European powers, particularly Great Britain, to recognize the Confederacy as a separate nation and intervene in the conflict. Thus, in early September Lee's army entered Maryland east of the Blue Ridge Mountains to threaten Washington and Baltimore and force the evacuation of the stranded garrisons at Martinsburg and Harpers Ferry. This would allow Lee to shift his communications to routes through the Shenandoah Valley. Lee also planned to cut area railroads to cut Washington off from the rest of the country. The Confederate Army began crossing the Potomac on September 4, 1862.[i]
