I'm trying to connect my Gopro Hero 7 Black wirelessly to my OBS.Live on Win10 to use as a second camera for my FB Gaming streams.

Monaserver installed but never shows connection confirmation after going live from the Gopro App. I click RTMP & put my IP in the URL. 1 article said to connect to Facebook first then click RTMP & set that up but it seems its either 1 or the other plus i'm not trying to broadcast from the app. Just to connect to OBS wirelessly.

Gopro app, Fios Gigabit , Galaxy Note 20 all brand new & working as expected.

My IP was correct & typed accurately. http://{IPaddress}

I use Droidcam program as my face cam for streams at the same time. Not sure if this would have anything to do with the problem. I would also assume this confirms that Mona should work without wifi integrated into my PC since Droidcam works fine.

If any other info is needed I will reply asap. Im assuming this is something small & easy to fix but I cant seem to gather any other info on this subject.

I thank you in advanced & appreciate all of your time.

Hi Kyle,

I am not sure to understand your issue, you are trying to publish directly from your Gopro to MonaServer right?

First try to set the maximum level of logs in MonaServer with the following command :
./MonaTiny --log=7

Then in the GoPro app you should write the following parameters :
server url => rtmp://{your local ip address}/
stream key => any string you want
If it does not work with the url in the form rtmp://{your local ip address}/ you can try to set an application name like this rtmp://{your local ip address}/live/, this is a known issue of some rtmp clients.

Thanks

Thomas

Hi,
Just following up on this old thread because I have the same issue. I have downloaded the latest 64 bit Mona Server and just extracted it and run it (no changes to anything).
I am then using the latest version of GoPro Quick.
In this I just see the option to enter the URL which I have done as above (and tried appending/Live/ on the end) but nothing works.
I am led to believe that when I press the Go Live button, I should see it register in Mona Server, but nothing happens - the app and the camera show "Live" then after a few seconds it just drops with a connection error.
I can't see anywhere that I can enter any other parameters that could be affecting the connection in the app (just the URL).
Any ideas gratefully received!!
Many thanks,

Hi Phil,

Happy new year!
Sorry for the late answer, we are very busy these days.

Did you resolve your issue?

Tell me more about your environment : the smartphone you use is connected to the same wifi than MonaServer/MonaTiny? If not you should setup port forwarding to be able to connect to the server.
Now on the server side try to set a very verbose mode :
MonaTiny.exe --log=8 --dump=RTMP

In this case if you see any log when trying to connect it will mean that the communication can work.

Regards

Thomas

Hello,
I just set up publishing from 3 GoPros.

Sending URLs:
  1. rtmp://10.11.90.66/live/4
  2. rtmp://10.11.90.66/live/5
  3. rtmp://10.11.90.66/live/6
Consuming URLs in VLC-Mediaplayer/Obs-Studio/ffplay

Streaming from OBS to Live-Stream "office"
Consumig URL
For easy consuming in OBS you have to install VLC-mediaplayer and then add VLS-Mediasource to your sources.

Best Regards
Bert

Hi Altamash!

Yes, you just need to setup the RTMP server to be available from outside your local network. Take a look at this article on port forwarding to make MonaServer able to receive data. Note that the default port of RTMP is 1935 (local port), you have to define the external port on your router.

Also you can take a look at this tutorial to setup your GoPro : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sVs4PFdxPc
