I am glad to announce you that MonaServer is now compatible with a great tool named OBS.
In brief it's an open source project that allows you to share/record your screen or any other video source you want.

To see the tutorial please click on the link below :

How to set up your own private RTMFP server using MonaServer

A great thanks to Janis for his help and informations!

Is this tutorial outdated? Attempting to follow this tutorial now leads MonaServer to complain: "Application /test doesn't exist". I am streaming to MonaServer RTMP using OBS Studio 0.12.3 x64 with the streamkey test and using VLC video player to access rtmp://myip/test.

This was solved by streaming to rtmp://myip/streams with the streamkey test instead.

Hi,

This is just a problem with VLC which needs an application in the url so you can't just play with "rtmp://myip/test" but with "rtmp://myip/ANYDIRECTORY/test" it will works.

Note that ANYDIRECTORY should be an existing directory in the root directory of Mona ("www").

Bonjour Thomas,

RTMP\RTMPSession.cpp[279] Sending ACK : 35062804 bytes (_unackBytes: 133558)

@thomas Jammet

What would be the URL line to get VLC to work with this.  I have tried a ton of options and cant get it to work.  As an example rtmp://127.0.0.1:1935/c:/users/david/desktop/mona/www/test??  and several different variants.  I am VERY NEW to this and trying to get composite streaming for my kids.  An example would help!  Thanks!

Hi liverebel2,

If you have followed the tutorial you just have to :
 - Create a subdirectory into "www", for example "c:/users/david/desktop/mona/www/temp/"
 - And connect with vlc to rtmp://127.0.0.1/temp/test

This is because vlc expect an application (here "temp") in the RTMP url.

I hope it will help you!

Regards
