My personal server has low bandwidth, but I want to broadcast to a large number of clients without cost.
So I found RTMFP as a solution.

I can broadcast with RTMFP/Monaserver/OBS(or FFMPEG).
However, with default setting, Monaserver don't make clients share the streaming with P2P.
How should I set up a monaserver / broadcaster / VideoPlayer? (need I to set peer id/netgroup?)
I use a 32-bit Windows zipped package.

Hi,

This is a good idea to think at p2p solutions when you have low bandwidth, and RTMFP is well suited for that purpose :)

But you must know that you will need to publish in a NetGroup for multicasting and this is not possible from RTMP, so OBS will not be useful in this case.

You can use the VideoPublisher client (or the MobilePublisher) for that purpose. Just set a NetGroup name in the right field and start publishing. Then on client side (VideoPlayer for example) you can set the NetGroup name and start playing. That's all!

These clients are configured with basic parameters of NetGroup, read the documentation if you need a specific behavior.

Now if you absolutely need to publish from an RTMP source contact us by mail, we could find a solution.

Thank you for reply :)

There are any chance to publish in a NetGroup for multicasting with OBS from RTMFP?
Because I successed broadcasting with OBS Studio from RTMFP.
I just set up broadcast protocol to RTMFP not RTMP, and it works!
Streaming Service: Custom
Server: rtmfp://<your server ip>
Play Path/Stream Key: test

And I tried some settings like this, but failed :(
Server: rtmfp://<your server ip>
Play Path/Stream Key: test?netgroup=testname

Or...
Is it not real RTMFP?

Information of OBS Studio what I used
OBS Studio 0.13.2 windows 64bit
(formerly known as OBS Multiplatform)

Hi

Yes it is RTMP, OBS doesn't support RTMFP and seems to change the protocol when you type rtmfp rather than rtmp :/

Anyway it is not possible to publish into a NetGroup from a simple publication (neither RTMFP) for now. Contact us by mail if you want to talk about alternatives.

Best Regards
