3. Call Out Ceremony and Crackerbarrel/Open Lodge meeting to be held on Fridays at Summer Camp

This year marks the first year that the family and vistors night will be on Fridays. With that being, Monaken Lodge will conduct the Call Out Ceremony Friday night following the campfire (which begins at 8:15pm). All members of the Order of the Arrow are highly encouraged to wear their Scout shirt and OA sash that evening to support those being called out that day. The OA Staff member is looking for Brothers to assist with the Call Out Ceremony. If you're interested please talk to him anytime throughout the week.

There will be a patch auction benefiting Monaken Lodge beginning at 7:15pm on the Trading Post Porch each Friday. All members of the OA can bid on various Scout items and Order of the Arrow items. Donations will be accepted throughout the week at Scout Camp. Come on out to see what's up for auction!

Following the camp fire and Call Out Ceremony there will be a crackerbarrel for all newly called out members and all OA Brothers in the Dining Hall. Following the crackerbarrel, there will be an Open Lodge meeting for all OA Brothers.

You can now pay your Lodge dues anytime during Boy Scout Summer Camp. Dues are $10.00 for the year or $20.00 for back dues. Dues can be paid at the Trading Post, Friday night crackerbarrel, or at the Council Office.

6. Sign up to help with Conclave 2010

2010 marks the first year since 2004 that Monaken Lodge will host the Section Conclave at Seven Mountains Scout Camp. The Conclave will be held from June 11-13, 2010. We are looking for all Lodge Brothers to assist with staffing facilities, administration, and program. Also visit www.conclave2010.monaken.org for more information on committees and to get a complete calendar.

7. Nominations for Lodge Officer have started

At the Spring Ordeal we began taking nominations for positions within the Lodge and our Chapters. At this time, there are many spots on both the Chapter and Lodge levels that do not have anyone nominated to fill them. The  Order of the Arrow is a youth led organization, and as such that means the  youth should step up and take charge. If you have been considering running for a position in your Chapter or the Lodge, I strongly encourage you to get in touch with the person who currently holds that position and ask questions about the job. Find out if the job is something you really want to do, and if you can do it well. If you have any questions, you can e-mail any of the Lodge Officers and we will be glad to help out.
