Which CA pools and lessons

Hi all,

I broke down and got a non-resident CA "play" membership this year, and I plan to put Henry in summer swim lessons.  Are any of you doing swim lessons during the week either in the morning or in the evening through CA?  Also, which pools do you think would be best for a can't swim yet Henry and definitely doesn't swim yet almost three-year-old Royce?

Hi Shelley!

Excited to hear that you'll be haunting the CA pools with us this summer!  We will not do formal lessons over the summer, but we plan on being at the pool a lot.  Dorsey's Search is walking distance to our house, so we will likely end up there most often; they have a beach entrance and a separate wading/kiddie pool . I was thinking about the swim team, but the kids need to be able to swim one length of the pool independently to join and we are not quite there yet. 

We are open to a weekly picnic dinner at the pool (rotating pools?) :)

Hey Shelley!  That’s awesome that you joined the ca pools!  We go all the time.  We jump around to different pools, but our favorite is Kendall ridge.  They have beach entry, and an awesome kids pool with a water slide in it. They also have a volleyball area for playing in the sand.   We do go to some of the other pools to meet people or try them out too though.

I like Andrea’s pool hopping dinner idea!

I just got Royce and Henry signed up for concurrent swim lessons at the Phelps Luck pool from 5:30-6:00 p.m. on July 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, and 26.  Allison, Andrea, Vivienne, and anyone else who could join in, would love to meet up at Phelps Luck pool one of those evenings each week for picnic dinner.  Also, for anyone SAHM this July or August, I will be free most Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays (and I've got guest passes) if you want to go to a CA pool in the morning :-)

Hey Shelley! I’m not sure what our plans are in July yet. I think we may be in July that second week of lessons. But if we are home the other week and not busy, we’d love to walk down the block to meet you.  I’ll let you know when it gets closer. We usually go to Kendall ridge, but Phelps Luck is our local pool and we walk there, so we do that one too. : )
