Happy Friday to my favorite Moms! :)

I am considering getting a Spanish tutor for Alex and Carina this summer.  I have been speaking with Heather Herrera who is a Spanish teacher at Ducketts Lane and she is interested in working with them.

She is willing to do a group lesson (Spanish immersion) which would reduce the cost per kid so I thought that I would see if there is any interest in the group.

It would be once a week (~1 hour) at our house. Either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening starting sometime between 4 and 5 (once I know who is interested we can finalize the day and time - she is flexible).

Total cost would be $80 per lesson for up to 5 kids or $100 per lesson for 6 or more.
She would focus on conversational skills and "playing" in Spanish and can work on vocab based upon our kids interests.  She is familiar with K, 1st grade curriculum and can work to that too.

We would split the cost depending on the number of kids. So if we have two more (4 total) it would be $20 per kid per week.

She is willing to do a "trial" class the first week of the summer if we would like.

Let me know if you are interested and we can work out the details.

Thanks!
Andrea

Thanks for all the replies to this!   It looks like we do have a small group interested, so I am going to take the conversation off the mom's group so we can work out the details.  If you haven't let me know yet and are interested drop me an email or test this week.

Have a great Tuesday!
Andrea

Hi Moms!

I hope that everyone's school year is off to a great start.  It was nice catching up with Shelley, Kerry, and Viv on Thursday and I hope to see more of you at our Oct. MNO.

I just wanted to give you all a quick update on our Spanish adventures.  We had a great experience working with Senora Herrera this summer.  She came to our house one evening a week and worked with the kids for an hour and then we had a nice dinner afterward.  She was very engaging and good with the kids and used lots of games and songs and movement. We were very pleased with their progress. And, they loved it!

We took a break at the start of school while everyone figured out their fall schedules and how first grade was going to treat us, but I think that we are ready to jump back in!

Senora is available Friday or Sunday evenings this fall.  I think that Sundays work best for us (but we are still figuring out our schedule).  I would like to do 4 pm at our house followed by an open invite to stay for dinner.  She charges $80 / class for up to 5 kids and will be teaching at a first grade level.  So, depending on how many people are interested we can split the cost evenly per kid.

Let me know if you are interested by Wednesday.  I would like to start on the  14th.

Enjoy your weekend!
Andrea
