It's amazing isn't it?!

As you consider...St. John's is currently taking applications. The financial aid app (well worth filling out...many are surprised when aid is offered) is due on Jan. 15. Kindergarten assessments begin at the end of Jan. And of course applications are accepted as long as there is space.

As our kiddos' birthdays are all close...I'm leaning heavily to Transitional Kindergarten. St. John's has a really fantastic program for the unique needs of that year to continue to stretch academically and build more confidence and social skills before the big switch to lower school. I've been back and forth on this from the start, but seeing Andrew daily in his class where all but two of them are now 5 (and the second to last having a Feb birthday with A six months behind), I'm seeing many ways that the extra year will help for the long haul. Grateful that I spend my days in school mode to get to see this up close.

What are others exploring?!

Hard to believe they're that old already!  I think I will plan on attending the Jan30 session. Thanks for posting Andrea, I wouldn't have known about it.   Food for thought, Jenny, about the transitional kindergarten. Bridget will likely be the youngest in her class, with an Aug 29 birthday though she seems to be holding her own in pre K.

Yes thanks for sending this out. We will probably attend the 25th session hopefully we will see some of you there. Max will also probably be the youngest in his class, but he seems to be handling pre k social interactions well and I think it would really affect him if he didn't attend Kindergarten like his friends.

I know that Shelly was trying to set up a MNO for the 25th.  If a few of us are planning on attending this workshop on the same night maybe we can do a MNO afterwards?

This sounds like a plan.  I would have suggested the MNO not start until 8:00 and the kindergarten session is suppose to run 6:30-7:30.  Any suggestions on somewhere near Oakland Mills High School to go to for the MNO?
