HOJE TONIGHT!! Thinking Globally, Acting Locally

Tonight MoMo is putting the “thinking globally, acting locally” motto to practice. Taking us through his local/ global journey is fellow Mozambican and ICT4D enthusiast Frederico Pereira da Silva, co-founder of the Mozambican ICT4D startup UX and one of the brains behind one of the largest job portals in the country - emprego.mz.

Earlier this year, Frederico and his team of entrepreneurs and developers, were awarded the prize “Fora da Caixa”, an initiative by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Gapi Sociedade de Investimentos SA, supported by the Republic of Finland, to promote entrepreneurship in Mozambique. More recently, UX were the 1st prize winners of the Start-upChallenge Moçambique, organized by Leadership Business Consulting and partners, which took the team all the way to renowned Silicon Valley in the US for 3 months. There they have been sharing knowledge with the likes of Google, LinkedIn, IDEO and many more. On his way back, Frederico also participated in one of the biggest startup conferences – Slush - with 80 countries represented, which continued to put him in the global experience, this time in Finland.

Hoje à noite, o MoMo irá pôr em prática o lema "Pensar globalmente, agir localmente". Este ano, Frederico e o seu team de empreendedores e programadores, já alcançaram vários sucessos. No principio do ano, receberam o primeiro prémio do "Fora da Caixa", uma iniciativa para promover o empreendedorismo em Moçambique, do Ministério de Ciência e Tecnologia, da Gapi Sociedade de Investimentos SA, com o apoio da Républica da Finlândia. Mais recentemente, foram os vencedores do Start-upChallenge Moçambique, organizado pela Leadership Business Consulting e parceiros, o que levou o team da UX até ao famoso Silicon Valley nos Estados Unidos por 3 meses. Lá partilharam conhecimentos com empresas de renome, entre as quais a Google, LinkedIn, IDEO e mais. À volta para Moçambique, Frederico participou ainda de uma das maiores conferências de startups -  Slush - com representantes de 80 países, continuando a globalizar a sua experiência, desta vez na Finlândia.
