WheniTunes on your computer doesn't recognize your connected device, you might see an unknown error or a "0xE" error. If you do, follow these steps and try to connect your device again after each step:
Well that is just the problem, error 3201 occurs only when attempting to download a purchase from iTunes on a iMac Pro, and has nothing to do with a connected device, iPhone or iPod. And only occurs after installing Mojave, used the MacBook Pro still using El Capitan to download the movies without a problem.
In iTunes, you can edit your account information, change your payment method and see your purchase history. You can also browse and buy content like music, movies, TV shows, and more from the iTunes Store.
On a Mac, you can sign into the App Store and iBooks Store with the same Apple ID that you use in iTunes. After you open the app that you want to sign in to, choose Store > Sign In from the menu bar at the top of your computer screen.
Make sure that your profile has full read and write permissions to the iTunes folder and all subfolders. Use Get Info on the iTunes folder in Finder. Click the lock at the bottom right to make changes. Make sure that Locked isn't ticked and that your own account has Read & Write access, then use the gear icon to Apply to enclosed items and confirm. Repeat with the media folder if on a different path.
Have you upgraded to macOS 10.14.1 yet? Where is your media folder stored? It looks like macOS 10.14 had issues with content stored on FAT32/exFAT and some NAS protocols. These issues may all be resolved in macOS 10.14.1.
Yesterday I purchased ten movies. Two of the will not download from iTunes. I've checked everything I can think of. I have an internet connection, the library is identified in iTunes and software is updated. Why am I getting a 3201 for only two movies of the ten I purchased? How do I fix it?
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. I see in your post that you receive an error message when you attempt to download content from iTunes on your computer. I'm here to help. In most cases, this error message suggests there could be a network connectivity related. Are you able to access Safari and the App Store at the same time you're receiving this error message? If so, try starting your Mac into safe mode to see if you're able to download these files from there.
Error 3201 is an issue that can prevent iTunes from updating iOS devices. Moreover, this error message can also pop up on your screen to tell you about the failure of iTunes to download purchased content.
Error 3201 is a thing that stops iTunes from updating or restoring iPhone devices. It might occur due to low storage of your Mac or your internet connection getting weak. Here are some of the most reasons behind this issue.
I also had this error. It took me about an hour to realize that, though I used to have Verizon, it was only FIOS Internet...no TV. Make sure you're using the Coax that's coming out of the ONT...not from the street. That was my problem anyway. As soon as I traced the Coax back from my TV and realized I was using the Coax cable from the street, I connected it to the splitter out of the ONT and that took care of everything. Hope that helps.
ONT is the Optical Network Terminal that Verizon installed from the Optical cable that comes from the outside to a box, which supplies ethernet and coax connections for your equipment. It usually looks like this once you open it up:
>What model router do you have?
---FiOS-G1100
>What model STB do you have?
---VMS1100
>How is router connected to Internet?
---The router connected Internet.
>Is this for new service or replacement?
---New service (Moving into a new residence)
I then consulted with Verizon in chat, and as a result sent me a new STB.
Then I set up the newly sent STB again, but the same error is displayed again and after all I can not see Fios TV at the moment.
Trying to set up fios cable boxes self install. Internet hooked up no problem. When I went to connect the box I got an error code 3201, has anyone else had this issue? If so, how did u resolve it? Verizon wants to charge me 160 to have a tech come out after being on with tech support over two hours
The most common major reason behind the error 3201 is that the backup file does not exist.
Solution: In such a case, you need to The first thing that we can do is to check if the backup files exists or not. To do so, In open File Explorer, go to the path mentioned by in the error message, and check if the backup file exists.
It might happen that the backup is stored in a shared folder, which is stored on another server. If the network fails for some reason, the shared folder will not be available. Network may fail due to,
Solution: You need to check if there are connectivity issues, IP address is correct or not, network card is working fine, and the hardware is in perfect shape. You can also check if Firewall is blocking the network.
The error 3201 occurs when restoring the backup file in SQL Server. Above, we have explained the reasons that can lead to this error and the solutions to fix the issue. In case the backup file is corrupt, you can use Stellar Repair for MS SQL Technician. This software can easily repair corrupt SQL database backup (.bak) files and recover all the data. You can download the demo version of the software to evaluate its functionality.
Basically, it is just moving your Music library from your home folder's Music folder to your external drive. Then having your Music app point to the new location in Preferences. But the details depend on how you have things set up. Do you have your music files in your library, or external to it? Are you using Apple Music, iCloud Music, or iTunes Match?
Another option is to leave your Music library in your Music folder. But then change the way it works in Preferences so that the song files are not copied into the library when you import them. Then store those files on your external drive. But that is tricky to switch to if you already have things set up to be in the library.
Ralston: If you are using Apple Music, and most of your songs are from Apple Music, then your library can be huge, but it shouldn't take up much space. I'd leave them in your Music folder. Otherwise, I would leave your library where it is but move your local music files to the external drive.
How Do I Transfer Music With Songs To an External Hard Drive In Catalina? Most of my music is on an external hard drive and has been purchased with the old iTunes or CDs that I had. On the old iTunes it had been set up to look at the external hard drive automatically. I did not do this so I don't know how it was done. HELP!
Gary, just watched these tutorials. Thanks for the references. But they did not help. Looking at older ones MacMost 631, it was most closely related but was for the old iTunes. On Catalina it does not show the hard drive on the left side like it did in iTunes. So what is the command for looking at the external hard drive that we put in preference, i.e. /volumes/external media/itunes media? What is the step by step procedure?
Linda: You don't need to know the path. Just set the Music app to not import the songs, then drag and drop music files into the app. Try ti with one and you'll see. It leaves the file on your external drive and adds it to your library list without making a copy on your internal drive. The song is then in your library, but the file is still where you had it, on your external drive.
Gary, I appreciate your help, but I am not tech savy and really don't understand. I am also new to MAC. When I tried doing the steps that were laid out in the video MacMost 631, I got an error (-3201). I don't even know where to look up what that error means. Starting to really get frustrated.
Linda: Don't go by that old video. You are making it more complicated that it really is. Just try what I was suggesting. Keep your Music library on your internal drive where it is now. Change the setting to not import. Then try adding one song from your external drive. See how it works. The song stays where it is but it appears in your library. Then add more as desired.
