The secondary metabolites in the roots, leaves and flowers of the common dandelion (Taraxacum officinale agg.) have been studied in detail. However, little is known about the specific constituents of the plant's highly specialized laticifer cells. Using a combination of liquid and gas chromatography, mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry, we identified and quantified the major secondary metabolites in the latex of different organs across different growth stages in three genotypes, and tested the activity of the metabolites against the generalist root herbivore Diabrotica balteata. We found that common dandelion latex is dominated by three classes of secondary metabolites: phenolic inositol esters (PIEs), triterpene acetates (TritAc) and the sesquiterpene lactone taraxinic acid β-D-glucopyranosyl ester (TA-G). Purification and absolute quantification revealed concentrations in the upper mgg(-1) range for all compound classes with up to 6% PIEs, 5% TritAc and 7% TA-G per gram latex fresh weight. Contrary to typical secondary metabolite patterns, concentrations of all three classes increased with plant age. The highest concentrations were measured in the main root. PIE profiles differed both quantitatively and qualitatively between plant genotypes, whereas TritAc and TA-G differed only quantitatively. Metabolite concentrations were positively correlated within and between the different compound classes, indicating tight biosynthetic co-regulation. Latex metabolite extracts strongly repelled D. balteata larvae, suggesting that the latex constituents are biologically active.

LaTeX is a typesetting system used for creating scientific and technical documents. It is commonly used in the field of mathematics, including calculus of variations, because it allows for the precise formatting and display of complex equations and symbols.

The variation symbol, denoted as δ, represents a small change or difference in a function or variable. In LaTeX, it can be typed as \delta or \partial, depending on the context and notation being used.

The variation symbol can be used in a variety of ways, depending on the specific equation or expression. It is commonly used to represent the derivative or partial derivative of a function with respect to a variable. It can also be used to denote the change in a function or the difference between two functions.

One common mistake is forgetting to include the backslash (\) before the symbol, which is necessary for LaTeX to recognize it as a command. Another mistake is using the incorrect symbol, such as using \delta instead of \partial or vice versa.

There are many online resources and guides available for using LaTeX in mathematics, including the variation symbol. Some helpful sources include LaTeX documentation, online forums and communities, and tutorial videos. It may also be useful to consult a textbook or reference book on calculus of variations for examples and guidance.

I have read on this forum that activataing Color variation and text-line correction option could increase print quality and sometimes banding issue. Then, in the printer frontpanel under Image-quality maintenance > Color variation and text-line correction > I turned it ON.

But I have see no difference on my prints. I just want to know what does this option do in reality because I was thinking that it automatically add spit bars but I don't see it.What does this option do in reality to increase color text print quality ?

#1 This option was not designed to improve IQ in all scenarios, just for a very specific ones. When color variation and text-line correction option is enabled, carriage is spiting some small drops of ink over all plot in order to keep PH's spiting, doing that we keep the PH's working all the time preventing some IQ effects that could produce the PH because is cold.

The negative side effect could be to find several dots ( of the color selected) all over the job. They are hard to find but they are present and for some customers this is not acceptable that's because we just recommend it for jobs with text or with big non printed areas surrounded by colors.

OK, thanks, always very interesting. Then the printer do small drops of ink even on blank surfaces. When you said several dots ( of the color selected). Why "of the color selected"? We have to select a color ?

#7 Hi! Yes the other forum will be discontinued very soon. Besides, you should be able to update your username on you profile settings, it is something that we strongly recommend as per default the email is shown. Please let me know if you cannot do it, otherwise, I will do it for you immediately. I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

Hemp Dogbane (Apocynum cannabinum) is a weedy perennial native to North America that can reproduce by seed or clonally. Shoots can emerge from vertically oriented crown roots or horizontally orientated lateral roots. This plant can be found readily throughout the nature park in small to large patches. We sampled from 6 populations, 3 within the quarry bottom and 3 outside of the quarry bottom. We looked at latex production to determine if it was influenced more by herbivory or water availability. In our analysis we discovered that water availability played a role in the amount of latex produced and that herbivory was deterred by latex production in nonquarry populations.

Hevea brasiliensis is the primary commercial source of natural rubber in the world and its latex is a source for many industrial inputs. The latex yield potential of rubber tree plantations has been lower than the estimated potential due to latex yield variation among rubber tree clones. In the present study, nine introduced and one indigenous Hevea brasiliensis clones were evaluated for three years in Ethiopia to select the clones that provide better latex yield for further expansion of rubber tree plantation. Data were collected from ten Hevea brasiliensis clones and ten trees of the same age were randomly selected from the same plantation site for each clone. There was a significant variation in latex yield across clones and months of the year. Based on the available data analysis results, it was inferred that Hevea brasiliensis clones, Mixed, RRIC101, and Malawi were superior on latex yield to the rest of the clones, whereas the lowest latex yield was obtained from the clone TOLIK.B. Due to atmospheric weather fluctuations, there were latex yield variations within months of the year. The highest average latex yield of 121.848 ml/t/t was collected in June, which is an initial period of the winter season in the district.

Hi,

I recently got more information from a seller that I am about to buy a latex mattress from, and I found something really strange, at least in the way I understood things. I was told that those numbers:

considering the fact that 26 ILD is quite soft, and the medium value is 35 ILD, means that there is a huge variance in ILD if you would compare a fully synthetic latex mattress of a given density to a mattress that has the exact same density but fully natural.

For example, to totally confuse things, I have 2 layers of 100% NR Dunlop. They were described as 55kg/m3 and 65kg/m3. I actually weighed them, and I came up with 70kg/m3 and 80kg/m3 as actual measured density, causing something of a mystery in its own right. The point is, the measurement of firmness, density, etc., is hardly a science with narrow tolerances. Talalay ILD by contrast, from latex international or radium, seems more consistenly measured.

Other factors yet, such as production method (talalay, dunlop- both mold and continuous pour), differences between vendors, and firmness inconsistencies within latex foam (more prominent in dunlop) will also contribute to variation of firmness to density or other comparisons.

I think dn covered everything at least as well as I could and the only thing I could add is post #2 here which has a list of some of the density/ILD ratings for Latex Green 100% natural Dunlop as a reference.

Ayurveda recommends standardization of different useful parts of herbal drug, either organized or unorganized, starting from its collection. The latex of snuhi is said to be collected at the end of Shishira ritu. This article highlights the result of scientific study on effect of season on collection of latex of Euphorbia caducifolia Haines. (EC), one of the botanicl source of Snuhi.

It could be a variety or combination of factors: how long your mattress is left compressed in the box, how tight the covers are sewn by hand, subtle variations in the tightness of the needle-tufting process, which is also done by hand, and even environmental factors within your own home. However, in 90% of the instances, these size variations actually disappear within the first 30 days with regular usage, as the organic cotton covers gently give and the organic latex is allowed to expand naturally. That's why 30 days is required before warranty claims for size variations can be considered. In 90% of the instances, a bit of patience is all that's needed.

Natural latex, used to make natural latex mattresses and natural latex toppers, is an all-natural product, which comes from the sap of the rubber tree, Hevea Brasiliensis. It is pure and it contains no added chemicals or synthetics. However, It's important to understand that because it is a natural product, it is not perfect. It is natural, clean and real. Why is it imperfect? Due to the manufacturing process of pouring latex into molds, to make natural latex mattresses, there are often variations in the latex material. These variations are normal and they do not affect the quality, comfort, support or durability of your product.
