As a valued external stakeholder/customer you are invited to hear about the latest waterway and wetland research being undertaken by Melbourne Water.
Held every six months, these Applied Research forums for external stakeholders and interested Melbourne Water people showcase a selection of the wide range of innovative research and development activities at Melbourne Water.
Research presented at the half-day forum on June 1 includes:
· How habitat suitability models are helping us develop the next Healthy Waterways Strategy - Dr Yung En Chee, University of Melbourne
· eDNA - revolutionising species detection and monitoring - Dr Andrew Weeks, CESAR
· Ecological benefits and costs of stormwater wetlands - Dr Rob Hale, University of Melbourne
· Instream habitat complexity - understanding the ecological benefits - Prof. Barb Downes, University of Melbourne
· Automated rapid analysis of acoustic recordings of frogs (or birds) - Dr Elizabeth Stark, Symbolix
· Why are new housing estates a hot spot for synthetic pyrethroid pollution? - Assoc. Prof. Vin Pettigrove, Centre for Aquatic Pollution Identification and Management (CAPIM)
