Inspiron N5110 system goes with windows 7 64 bit operating system, since your computer has windows 7 32 bit operating system I am afraid there are no specific drivers available for windows 7 32 bit. Some of the windows 7 64 bit driver will work with windows 7 32 bit operating system .However, you can run windows update in your computer to get the latest update about the diver or you can install the windows 7 64 bit driver manually. Please follow the steps below.
Click on Start >in search box type in Device manager > under the network adapter select the driver which has the yellow exclamation mark >right click on the hardware's name > Click the Update Driver... button> click on Browse my computer for driver software > In the next window labeled Browse for driver software on your computer, click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, located at the bottom of the window >Click the Have Disk... button located under the text box >Click the Browse... button on the Install From Disk dialog box that appeared. In the Locate File dialog box that appears next, navigate to the folder that you extracted as part of the driver. There may be multiple folders within the extracted folder so be sure to work your way to the one for Windows 7 if it exists. Don't worry if you don't find one labeled for Windows 7.> 10.Click any INF file that displays in the file list and click the Open button > 11.Click the OK button back on the Install From Disk dialog box > Choose the newly added hardware in the text box and then click the Next > button > The Windows 7 Update Driver Software wizard will now use the instructions provided in the INF file from Step 10 to install the updated drivers for your hardware >Follow any additional instructions on screen to complete the driver update >You may be prompted to restart your computer after the driver update is complete.

Update the driver: Go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest driver for the network controller. Then, right-click on the network controller in Device Manager, select "Update Driver Software," and follow the on-screen instructions.
I have checked and my computer does meet the requirements for windows 8.1 I have downloaded the latest drivers for the network controller but when I try to install it it says my device is not plugged in or connected or something like that and there r no updates for my computer cause they no longer make updates for windows 7
Dell doesn't list or support any windows 8.1 network drivers for your computer. However, Dell does list network drivers for windows 7, 64 and 32 bit. Please click on link below, look to the right, and then select your dell model number.
I've been through a longwinded process of trying to reset my Dell XPS 13 9350 back to an original windows state. After using Window's reset functionality to try and reset my PC I was put into a reset loop during the reinstall of windows. Do get around this looping, I used the Windows Media Creation Tool to create a Windows 10 installation.
This worked and I had a fresh new windows machine. However, it seems there's some crucial drivers missing including my network adapter and a display driver. At this point I'm unable to even view any WiFi networks and when troubleshooting I get the error message "Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver".
I've tried downloading drivers from the dell drivers listed for my laptop as well as any missing intel drivers from a USB. Neither have done the trick, and as far as the dell drivers are concerned I did install the system utilities and chipset drivers first.
I feel like I've exhausted my options and any help or direction would be appreciated. I also plan to boot Ubuntu on this laptop, is it possible that Ubuntu would resolve any missing drivers? Thanks.
I performed a Windows reset and faced the same looping issue as you when I booted it up after completion. I then tried using a fresh Windows 10 installion from USB but now there is no Wireless network adapter in my Device Manager. I've tried installing all the usual chipset and network drivers but still no joy. It very strange considering the laptop was working perfectly fine before the reset.
EDIT: Crisis overted! Installing the Network drivers from here resolved the problem and my network card is now working fine. Sadly I have had to do the same for a tonne of other hardware devices too (bluetooth, audio etc)....stupid Windows.
You're an absolute life saver! This worked without even rebooting. I tried dell's wifi update meant specifically for my xps service tag and it didn't work. I'm angry I paid a fortune for a laptop that constantly gives me a headache because of silly updates that don't work. Thanks a million, maybe you should be in charge of dell support.
I got a notification for 3 dell updates. I installed the updates and restarted the laptop once the laptop was restarted I could not connect to the internet getting a error windows cannot find network adapter.
I called Dell tech support they said because i did not extend my warranty in june 2020 which i was in a financial problems with losing my job I could not afford to spend extra funds at the time. so I was told that unless I pay for an warranty extension dell support will not be an option for me and I must bring the laptop into a computer store to buy a new driver and software.
I now cannot find a way to get this laptop to connect to the internet as i do not see any hardware i can plug a internet cord into. how can i update or find software for the network adapter as in network controller properties
Some how when i turned on the laptop I noticed the wireless bars were active so I quickly jumped to the site you requested. I am really stunned on why all of sudden the network is working but I do not see the network controller in the device manager anymore.
The problem is, suddenly, today it happened again, i changed rooms in my house and when i arrived at the living room table, everything was as I'd left it, except that again, the wireless adapter has disappeared, I can't see a Wireless section in Network Settings, and a list of available networks to connect to. I'm using a cable at the moment, but this time it shows no signs of reappearing.
Refreshing ("scan for hardware changes" in Device Manager) doesn't make it reappear either; i updated all possible drivers from windows, delll and intel, rebooted several times, tryied turning it off and on as i did last time, even tryied changing places where the laptop is at, tryied some cmd commands that seemed to fix the problem to people that updated from windows 7/8 to 10, but nothing seems to work for me.
How can i fix this? Please help!
I have a similar issue with my dell inspiron 7737 on which I'm running windows 10. The Wi-Fi has stopped working, the symbol to turn it on and off on the toolbar is non existent. I can access the internet fine over an Ethernet cable but the wireless driver is showing as not present in settings. The settings menu has no option for Wi-Fi. I have tried a system restore but can't go far enough back due to a system crash. Without the driver being present I can't update it or anything else. Any advice would be appreciated as I'd like to avoid a factory reset if possible. I have tried a network reset but still have this problem.
Just bought my Inspiron 13 7375 - it had issues out of box with the wireless nic not even showing in device manager. I updated firmware to 1.2, downloaded wireless nic drivers off the webpage - and installed. On reboot the nic came up and I thought it was resolved. Powered down my laptop after work, went for a haircut, came home and powered back up - low and behold the wireless nic disappeared again, reboot resolved it again though.
I have a Dell Wireless 1704.802.11b/g/n that continues to disappear from a laptop. I have to go through the process of uninstalling it and then shutting down the laptop, and letting the laptop find it again on boot up and then I am good for a few days. Seems like it may be tied to Windows Updates, but not sure. This is on a Inspirion 15, Windows 10 Dell Laptop. I have tried a bunch of different solutions from this Dell site, including updating BIOS, checking for latest drivers, disabling BlueTooth devices - and nothing seems like a permanent solution, only thing that bids me the most time in a solution is uninstalling and re-installing the wireless adapter. There is not two drives on the computer - so reinstalling Windows is not an option, and neither is a factory restore. Seems to me with all the posting on this matter, Dell has a defect on these systems. I am a Tech Support person in a company with many Dell laptops and this is the only model with issues.
