Signed up for Project Plan 3 trial, been searching everywhere for the way to download the desktop client to our MAC devices. Still unable to find, tried checking if it was a license issue but doesn't seem to be. I assigned the Project Plan 3 license to myself as 'Global Admin' and still was unable to access any link to download Project Plan 3 desktop client.

Our boss has a Microsoft 365 Family subscription, although I signed up for MS Project trial using a new Microsoft account. Note: while I was able to use the boss' 365 family account email and the company domain, however it would not allow me to actually just 'add on' MS Project to the boss' account with the 365 Family subscription. From research, I assume this is because MS Project is not included as apart of the 365 Family subscription? but I am unsure.

Project Plan 3 desktop client can be installed on both Windows and Mac systems. However, users have to be local administrators on their devices to install Project. OneNote for Mac is available as a separate download from the Mac App Store. (Source: Microsoft 365 operated by 21Vianet)

If you signed up for Project Plan 3 on a new Microsoft account without any kind of 365 subscription, it should not impact the usability of Project Plan 3. However, you will need to purchase the appropriate Project subscription and assign it to the user if your Microsoft 365 or Office 365 user needs to edit or create projects or roadmaps. Unfortunately, Project related problems are not supported in Microsoft Q&A. There is a forum which is dedicated to Microsoft Project and I suggest you post a new thread there. Project experts actively monitors threads there.

NVivo on Windows and Mac are separate software applications with different project file formats (file extensions: .nvp for Windows and .nvpx for Mac). You can convert projects between the platforms however there are limitations such that, while you can successfully convert a project on a once-off basis it is not recommended you convert between the formats on an ongoing basis.

You do not need to convert an NVivo Mac project to an NVivo Windows file format. Simply open an NVivo Mac project (.nvpx) directly in NVivo Windows (the project must have the same major version number as NVivo Windows). The project is converted automatically into the Windows format (.nvp). As an alternative, consider importing the content from an NVivo Mac project into an NVivo Windows project Merge/import projects.

Considering you have never used Docker and now you want to use Docker Desktop without knowing the basics it is not surpriing that it is hard to start. Docker Desktop has some special features to help developers, but many tutorials will show you Docker CE which is just part of Docker Desktop. I am not completely sure what you are looking for, but I try to give you some hints and please, share if I misunderstood something.

So telling you that you just need to start Docker Desktop and start to develop is not really helpful. It requires much more preparation and learning. If the project you want to start had a good documentation or a sample configuration that you can just start, you could at least try the current version.

I agree with you that the explanation I have been given of the project is completely unhelpful. I am extremely unhappy with how this former employ has handed off the project and the lack of documentation I have. I still do not even have access to the entirety of the project as we have other parts that interface with different servers that I still need to get.

I myself had to realise recently that I was not enough for a specific solution in a project and it would have been irresponsible to stick with that when I took over the project so I chose another way that can be done easier by a single person.

I would ask the previous developer for their .env file or at least to tell you what values to use for these environment variables. Then paste them into a .env file and try again. That should get you closer.

You would have to ask the creator of the tutorial. It makes no sense to me either. A tutorial should have only what is necessary to teach the lesson and no more. They have obviously violated this and confused even me and I teach Docker at the university level!

It became way easier on Windows, since WLS comes with WSLg. It has been around for Win11 for a long time, and finally found its way into Win10. It allows running x-applications with ease: there is no need to install or configure anything special to use it. In the second column, add the start week for each of the project phases, using the first task (which will start in week 1) as the reference point for the rest of the tasks.
