animal-sniffer-maven-plugin future

Hi, 

   reading the issues (https://github.com/mojohaus/animal-sniffer/issues), it seems that this plugin works only up to JDK 8. No more signatures have been generated and probably the plugin itself should be re-engineered.

Is there a plan to support JDK 9/10/11?

Hi,

that would imply that we should create signatures per module, which is quite complex.

However, there's no need for signatures anymore, since Java 9 introduced the release flag, which is actually inspired by our signatures.

This will insure that your code is really <RELEASE> -compatible.

So I don't expect any new Java signatures.
