I've installed Moji -- thanks for getting it signed -- for Firefox, but the dictionaries refuse to install as they are not. Are there plans to get the dictionary files being signed officially?

Moji works and doesn't seem to need much of an update but as there have been no remarks since 2011 I'm merely hoping this will get though. The mozdev page appears to have hardly changed either, certainly not since the signing change was introduced to Firefox.

For the record, I've downloaded all the dictionaries and got the three I've needed signed on Firefox's Add-on site so that I can use them, but not made them publicly visible (as such, I can never make them publiclly visible without a delete/resubmit cycle). Erwan's website has gone down, I cannot find any contact details for Gerald and this really is my last throw of the dice trying to get in touch.

Otherwise, whilst giving due attribution I would like to try to get these signed and out so that people can continue to use Moji. Please get in touch; I can transfer the Addons account to a new e-mail if preferred but the files are suitable for the website. -C

Actually, mozilla signs add-ons automatically. I didn't do anything for that. moji is basically abandoned. I don't need it anymore and thus haven't done anything. It was the only FF/TB add-on I have ever contributed and I don't follow what needs to be done to keep it alive. If I remember correctly Firefox will soon abandon XUL and I think that will be the end of moji unless someone makes the necessary changes.

If you want to take over and officially submit all those dicts to get them signed you are most welcome...

Hi Gerald, thanks for getting back.

Somehow I completely missed that bombshell about XUL being dropped so thanks for the info. I'm absolutely aghast, but it seems at least they're doing it slowly...

Moji was signed automatically due to being on the addons website, but the dictionaries weren't and as such couldn't be installed.

My coding level would be best described as "hobbyist" -- which doesn't bode too well for me -- but I think there's potential:

*The Javascript should essentially be fine, provided any XUL/Chrome calls can be replaced with WebExtensions equivalents;
*The dictionaries need to be brought up to speed with the new system for logging extensions;
*Global browser settings are inaccessible so a local settings base is needed (I anticipate this being the biggest headache);
*Otherwise, it's all about changing XUL front-ends into HTML (or perhaps even XML with a new Schema or suchlike may work) and hoping for the best.

I'm happy to have a play-around with it and see if I can make any progress. It's probably best that I wait to see if I can actually make something happen before I adopt anything!

Moji is simple, clean and does the job its designed to do. It'd be a shame to let it fall by the wayside.
