Hi, MoJa Friends!!!

Please  excuse all the recent emails we've been sending out, but sometimes things just pop up and we need to share it with our friends!!!

We had a great couple of shows this past weekend... First we play The Rives Theater in Martinsville, VA on Friday, August 5th. Our friends & fun alt country / Americana / Folk duo, Doug & Telisha Williams  host a "First Fridays" there every month and the audience was filled with some energetic listeners for sure!  We hope to come back sometime with our Quartet.  The next day we played the Elysian Fields Music Festival in Boyce, VA which is held on a beautiful piece of land (we heard it used to be an old battleground!).  We had a great set with our Quartet and got to see some other fun bands after our set including The People's Blues of Richmond, The Green Boys, and others.  Definitely check it out if you are in the North Western VA area next year!

Our drummer, Devonne also told us a great story where he was offered to borrow a cymbal that belonged to a friend of a friend of a friend, and so on.  It so happens to be the cymbal of our dear friend & amazing drummer, the late Johnny Gilmore.  It's amazing to see how things come back around and that in some sense he's still with us.

  THIS Saturday, August 13th, We are THRILLED to be playing at The Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage.
  This is a FREE concert series put on 365 days a year and we'll be playing from 6PM - 7PM.  We'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to see some familiar (and new) faces, so please come out or pass this along to some friends and family in the area.

  We'll be bringing our "MoJa Quartet"! Featuring Pete Spaar on Upright & Devonne Harris on Drumkit
  -Friday, September 9th in Charlottesville, VA at The Dickinson Theater
  Celebrating WNRN's 15th Anniversary!   7PM / $10 on sale TOMORROW, August 5th at 10AM!!!
  Other performers include Elizabeth & The Catapult, and Ha Ha Tonka!
  We hardly play in our hometown as much these days, so it'd be wonderful to see some old friends!
