Good Morning,
I was contacted late last week by Jonathan LaMare, with whom we have worked in the past, about a special medical need for a gentleman he is working with in Haiti.
I am managing a case for medical care for a young Haitian man living in Haiti, married, with two daughters, who had two heart valves replaced in the USA about 6 years ago. His valves are failing and in need of replacement. I have secured a visa for him to travel to the USA and a hospital system in Plano, TX, to provide his care free of charge.
However, we are trying to raise significant funds for his lodging while he is in Texas, a car rental, transportation, and post-op care. I'm afraid we haven't made much progress in that regard, and he's scheduled to fly to the USA on May 5. I am getting anxious that we won't have enough funding to cover his needs fully.
His name is James Charles.
I was able to secure mechanical valve replacement for him (which was not an option for him the first time), so this will ultimately save his life, and he should not need further surgery for this condition.
Jonathan has secured $7,500 of the $10,500 he would like to raise.
If you can provide any support for Mr. Charles' procedure and support, you can either Venmo the funds to @NorthCountryMissionOfHope or mail a check to North Country Mission of Hope, 3452 NYS Route 22, Peru, NY 12972.
As you read in Jonathan's message, time is of the essence for this appeal; he needs the money by May 5. I would like to get him the funds as quickly as possible, so if you are sending a check, please send me an email (
jpcarl...@gmail.com) and let me know your pledge. This will allow me to forward funds to Jonathan based on those numbers.
As always, if you cannot send financial support, please pray for Mr. Charles, his family, and those who will provide his medical care.
Thank you for all you do to support the Mission of Hope.
Blessings
Yours in Hope,
Deacon James Carlin, Executive Director
