Love the part on "Write code you can delete".  That was one of the things I was thinking about when I wrote the first drafts of Modular FileMaker.  

"Does this make it easier to rip it out?"

The part that struck a chord with me was the focus on sectioning off the hard parts so you don't have to think about them. It mirrors what I've been saying for a while that developers should stop talking about "abstraction" in favor of "generalization" and "encapsulation", and that the latter is more important.
