Ouattara,

I was wondering if anyone is using Modflow6 in ModelMUse? If so, I was hoping you could share me how to correct my model. when i run my model, i can see some errors like:

(43:     SIMULATION WILL CONTINUE EVEN IF THERE IS NONCONVERGENCE.
344:  Solution 1 did not converge for stress period 1 and time step 1
10350:  Solution Group 1 did not converge for stress period 1 and time step 1)

(35292:          ****FAILED TO MEET SOLVER CONVERGENCE CRITERIA IN TIME STEP 1 OF STRESS PERIOD 1****)

Thanks,

Welcome to the complexities of modflow. Check your list file, review your output, have a cold shower and good luck.

Hi,

Use wetting in Modflow6 with Newton solver. Increase number of iterations. Check Initial heads to be Model_Top.

The answer lies in the LSt file, go through it  and you will definitely find the cue. we all had such amusements from MODFLOW in the initial days.

Hi,

I think a bit more context is required:
-Is your model a steady state model or transient?
-What boundary conditions are you using (ET, CLN, Recharge ect)?
-What is the purpose of your model?

However try the following:

In the menu:
MODFLOW Packages and Programs -> IMS.

Change complexity to Complex - this setting generally allows most correctly setup models to work but might increase the run times.

If the model still fails import the heads file into the model and look at the water level contours - this sometimes give you an idea of which cells are acting up.

Generally I do not like to force the model settings to make the model converge - but it's a bit hard to know what's going on with the model without more context.

Let me know how it goes.
