Hello, I'm starting to use modflow, and I was wondering if there's a way to do a flow velocity plot in modelmuse. I know you can get the flow on each face of each cell, but I'd like to know if there's the possibility of ploting the vectors of velocity. A coworker can do this with an old version of visual modflow, and seeing as modelmuse is newer, I thought there might be a way to do it, even if I can find it.

If there's no way to do this, is there any way to save or export the area of each face of each cell? This way I could use flow data and the areas and get a velocities plot, even if I have to use an external program to do so.

Thanks in advance

ModelMuse does not currently display Darcy velocities.
You can save the values of any data set in the "Data|Data Set Values" dialog box.
There are functions that give the areas of the cell faces: BlockAreaTop, BlockAreaFront, and BlockAreaSide. For unconfined conditions, you would need to adjust the front and side areas to account for just the saturated thickness. You would also need to figure out what to do when the sizes of faces on adjacent cells don't match because of variable layer thickness. Finally, you would need to decide whether or not to adjust the vertical vector component for sloping layers and decide what to do about vertical exaggeration.

Hello I met the same problems with you. I also need get the velocity vector plot. But now I have no idea to get it in other ways.I wonder to know how did you solve the problem? I also used the visual modflow software, it can shoe velocity vector easily. If the VM can read the results data from the ModelMuse?

With MODFLOW 6, you can import the specific discharge components from the cell-by-cell flow file and plot vectors from those.
