I am having an issue running mf6.exe in that it won't open at all (Nothing happens when I try to run). The 'mf5to6.exe' opens. I can also run all of the batch (.bat) files.

I have added the appropriate PATH variables and have allowed the file/folder access for all of the associated modflow files and folders, but I still can't get the mf6.exe file to run. Even when I try to run as an administrator, nothing happens.

I could access it through the cmd window at one point, and I think I remember it not being able to find 'mfsim. nam'. If that is the issue, how do I fix it?

If it's not the issue, what else could it be?

The machine I need to work on is using Windows 11, but I have the same issue on my Windows 10 machine.

I would appreciate any advice.

Two options.
1. Copy mf6.exe into the folder where mfsim.nam is located and run it from there.
2. Use a GUI to create the input files and run MODFLOW.

Hi Richard,

Thank you for your reply.

When you say to copy mf6.exe into the folder where mfsim.nam is located, do you mean any of the folders where it is located? There is an 'mfsim.nam' in every example folder. So, do I just copy it to the folder of the example problem I would like to run and try to run it from there?

Kind regards,

Matt

That would work.
