Happy to share that the report "Methodology for hydrological and hydrogeological modelling of the Forsmark site" has now been published by SKB.
This report presents a detailed and well-substantiated methodology for integrated hydrological and hydrogeological flow modelling useful for site descriptive modelling and safety assessment. Although developed specifically for the geological setting of the Forsmark site, Sweden, the report deals with a multitude of important conceptual and numerical flow modelling issues of general interest, including a strategy (protocol) for integration of discrete fracture network (DFN) and equivalent continuous porous media (ECPM) approaches, and comparisons of pros and cons of using hydraulic (flow) and analytical (geometrical) upscaling methods.
