Hey guys, PhD student here. I'm just starting to learn MODFLOW, and I'm hoping to use its new GWE package to model geothermal heat flow in my study area. It's a pretty low temp environment, but hot enough at the upper end that it might induce some density driven flow. Luckily, MODFLOW can do that too.
I was wondering, are the benchmarks, tests for grid convergence, L2 norm type stuff, and
other methods you use to make sure a numerical solution is accurate
published anywhere? There are plenty of examples of them benchmarking variable density flow
caused by chemical concentrations, and temperature treated as a chemical
species, I was curious if they published their tests for variable
density flow caused by temperature variations in the new GWE package.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
