Is MODFLOW Code Verification Published Anywhere?

Hey guys, PhD student here. I'm just starting to learn MODFLOW, and I'm hoping to use its new GWE package to model geothermal heat flow in my study area. It's a pretty low temp environment, but hot enough at the upper end that it might induce some density driven flow. Luckily, MODFLOW can do that too.

I was wondering, are the benchmarks, tests for grid convergence, L2 norm type stuff, and other methods you use to make sure a numerical solution is accurate published anywhere? There are plenty of examples of them benchmarking variable density flow caused by chemical concentrations, and temperature treated as a chemical species, I was curious if they published their tests for variable density flow caused by temperature variations in the new GWE package.
