I’m currently developing a groundwater flow model in ModelMuse using MODFLOW 2005 coupled with PEST (pilot point method). following these steps (https://water.usgs.gov/nrp/gwsoftware/ModelMuse/Help/rmamf2005_model_summary.html)
When I run the model, I get the following error:
“No PEST parameters are assigned to any cell in the data set ‘K_Multiplier.’”
and this warning:
“More than 200 input data set observations; excessive memory use by PEST.”
(_K_Multiplier: 65120,Kx: 2548)
The model runs, and I notice changes in the simulated heads and RMSE values, but the Kx distribution remains uniform after calibration.
In the output folder, I get the arrays (e.g., Cov, Variogram, etc.), but no .res file is generated, and the array values are spatially constant across the model domain.
Any suggestions on how to ensure PEST properly assigns parameters and produces variable calibrated Kx
Thank you

Yes, I’ve tried that the error no longer appears, but I still get the same K value across the entire area, and no .res file is generated by PEST.
I think I might be missing something. May I ask which guide or tutorial you followed for your setup?
Thank you,
best regards
