Question: Generating Observed vs. Simulated Heads File in MODFLOW 6 with ModelMuse

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble generating the file to compare observed and simulated heads in MODFLOW 6. Unlike in MODFLOW 2005, where the .hob_out file was created directly, I understand that in MF6, you need to use PEST to obtain this file.

Here’s my situation:

• I’m using MODFLOW 6 with the ModelMuse interface.
• I’ve set up everything according to the available instructions.
• I ran pestcheck, and it showed no errors. PEST also runs successfully, but the .res file (which should contain the comparison) is not being generated.
• The model I’m using is inherited and includes some PEST parameter settings, but I’m not looking to calibrate it. I just want to produce the file comparing observed and simulated heads.

Could anyone advise on what I should check or adjust to solve this issue? I’m stuck and can’t figure out what’s going wrong.
