VS Code extension for MODFLOW 6

Dear community,

I invite you to try out this VS Code extension for MODFLOW 6: MODFLOW 6 Syntax

It is primarily a syntax highlighter for MODFLOW 6 files but it also adds some rich language features, e.g., go-to-definition for files. See repo via the link above for more details. More features should follow in the following releases.

The extension, currently in beta, is available via the VS Code extensions marketplace. Feedback and contributions are very much welcome. Thank you!

Please recall that the most complete version of USGS Modflow is still Modflow-OWHM. This version has over 20 years of development and applications worldwide including incorporation in FREEWAT and ModelMuse. This also includes inclusion and linkage with climate, land use, and reservoir operations, that are essential to sustainability analysis. Development continues with MF-OWHM so please stay tuned for new exciting developments for a more holistic solution to integrated hydrologic modeling with MF-OWHM

Hi Saul,

Thanks for featuring the extension.

I have recently added a hover feature to show the description of keywords (if available) on mouse hover. Currently, I'm looking to add another hover feature on the block names to enumerate possible keywords for each block.

Bumping this thread to announce the latest version of the VS Code extension MF6 Syntax (v0.5.1) which includes several new features since the last posting 8 months ago.

I want to especially highlight the mouse hover feature which makes the MF6 documentation more accessible. See extension's README for the demo of features and more information. Thank you!
