Hi,

I'm using visual modflow 2009.1 to model a pumping test. I've also included my Observation data (measured heads) under Wells -> head Observation wells.
I want to use PEST (which is included in the Software) for Parameter estimation, which isn't working right now. Apparently PEST can't find the .hob-file. I had a look in my folder, and no hob-file is beeing produced. Do I have to particularly activate the Head Observation package and how could I do that?  Or could it be an issue of using visual modflow with Windows 10?
Anyone, who can help or has the same problem?

Thanks in advance!

Maike

Usually happens in case of non convergence of solution that hob file is not produced. Check if the model converged!

Hi Maike

Warm greetings from New Zealand! Good to see you doing some MODFLOW work!

You might be interested to know that PEST is considered easier to use with Groundwater Vistas; a lot more PEST functionality is available in GV, although the graphics etc are not as good a VM.

If you get stuck, you can also contact the makers of GV and PEST directly, they are very helpful.

Best of luck.

Simon
