Hello,
You are right place for you problem.

Apart from lectures and notes available on USGS site and others sources, mak gurukul whatsapp classes is very important for new learner for MODFLOW Software.

You can search 'mak gurukul' youtube channel and to contact email on mak.g...@gmail.com for further information.

This help from my side.

Regards,
Kaleem Ashraf

I would strongly recommend to start modelling with ModelMuse, going through all the tutorials/videos in the software homepage.
After trying several commercial interfaces, MODFLOW and others, I think this interface is probably the best you can find to learn how MODFLOW works down to the package level.
ModelMuse generates comments in the input files that are extremely useful to understand the whole MODFLOW structure.

Ideally, before using ModelMuse, reading the MODFLOW-2005 and MODFLOW-NWT manuals, to understand the discretization scheme and boundary conditions conceptualization and parameters, should give you a strong basis to work with the software. Then jump to MF-USG and MF6.

Javier

I also recommend  Mak Gurukul online Whatsapp class which I am taking right now. It is the best class for beginners to learn groundwater modeling using free tools ModelMuse and Modfllow.  The  course fee is not expensive, anyone can afford it

Kind regards,
Anusha

I learned modflow6+modelmuse from scratch since december.
The usgs video was not a good option for me because:
  • They use mainly modflow 2005 and I try to learn modflow 6
  • Most of the vidéo are flash (end of live). Some are trancoded but not all. You need to trancode yourself...
A better source for me was hatari labs blog and youtube channel.
I started with this one (example in modelmuse documentation):
Note: I am a beginner in groundwater modeling but not in modeling: I have experience in mechanical, thermal, magnetic...

In order to view the SWF files of MODEL MUSE videos, you can still download Flashplayer_sa_32.exe from https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/debug_downloads.html
and see every video. To use MODEL MUSE the help videos are very useful. This standalone FlashPlayer does not need any installation.

I didn't know that standalone adobe flash player. Until now, I was using the online ruffle flash player: https://ruffle.rs/demo/
It plays the video but with no pause capabilities: not easy for software learning!
The standalone adobe flash player is really a better solution.
Thank you
