Hi All,
I am a beginner at using MODFLOW using GW Vistas.
I was trying to run a transient model within Vistas but it can't read river and recharge data and shows the error (please see screenshot). I am assuming it might be due to a data (input file) error that I already checked but still not able to figure it out.
However, could you please share your thoughts on why this issue is occurring?

Kind Regards,
Rahena

It's hard to tell exactly what went wrong, but the problem relates to the file with a unit number of -5. Check the name file to figure out the name of the file associated with -5.

Hi Richard,
Thank you for your reply.
I have checked the input file and nam file, but didn't get anything with a unit number of -5. So, still having that issue. Do you have any other suggestions?

Kind Regards,
Rahena

How about a unit number of five (+5). MODFLOW sometimes use a negative number to indicate that a binary file is being read or written but actually associates a positive unit number with the file. Also check the end of the listing file to see what it was trying to read when it encountered the problem.
