I am facing some problems regarding the visual modflow run options.

I have prepared my "transient flow model for mult-aquitared1-aquifer1-aquitard2-aquifer2-aquitard3-aquifer3-layers " now I indeed to run the model.

Here, when I click the run to execute my model (figure A) option appears, where (figure B, figure C-F with option) is displayed, though figure G is the main run option.

Now my question is, to execute the model run:

1. Do I need to do anything as shown in Figure C-F (Modflow 2000 to Optimization)?
2. Which options do I need to tick for my transient multilayer flow model as shown in figure         G
3. Which option I need to select as shown from Figure H red color inset options?
4. When I tick the pest option and try to run, then a command appears saying optimize for pest. What do I need to do?

I am eagerly waiting for reply.

Regards
Mr. Riad

When you enter the Run section of the Visual MODFLOW Classic interface you basically have the possibility to set options for the different engines (MODFLOW, MODPATH, MT3DMS/RT3D, SEAWAT, PEST, etc.). You may, however, jump directly to the Run menu here to translate and run your model if you wish, but I doubt the run will be successful without proper options being set first. For running the flow model (either steady-state or transient) your options may be found under the MODFLOW (MODFLOW-2000 in your case) menu. Here you'll be able to select transient time stepping, solvers, set your initial heads, rewetting options, etc. Please refer to the MODFLOW manuals and the Visual MODFLOW online help. Unfortunately, your questions are too general to be answered shortly, so I recommend some more theoretical background osr maybe you should attend a course. Waterloo Hydrogeoloic, the authors of Visual MODFLOW offer such course on their website.
