Groundwater Recharge Scenario Simulation in Visual MODFLOW Flex

Hello everyone,

I am using Visual MODFLOW Flex for groundwater fluctuation modeling. I want to compare two scenarios:

1. Natural recharge
2. Artificial recharge using structures like recharge shafts, check dams, and percolation tanks

Is it possible to simulate this in Visual MODFLOW? If yes, what is the best way to represent these recharge structures in the model?

Hi Shruthi,

Yes, it is possible. You can put the artificial recharge values in the respective areas (e.g., recharge shafts, check dams) the same way we put the natural recharge. You may show the recharging structures as a map on top of the model as a reference.
