Many opportunities to dance in
Modesto this week. Saturday is our Gato & Andrea milonga at
Jacobs, preceded by the first two of four workshops specific to
our group, beginning with a women's technique class - work on
embellishments ladies like, plus classes on Vals and Milonga. Details
below. Third Thursday art-walk milonga at
Concetta, Monday practica at Jacobs.

8 p.m., 2501 McHenry. Great for practicing class
material. ALL levels encouraged. No fee, but you're urged

THURSDAY - October 15, Art Walk Milonga at
Concetta's 1205 J Street, 7 to 9 p.m. Join us for food, wine,
socializing and tango. Art Walk was featured in this week's
Scene, so there may be quite a few people walking by.

musicality. Close embrace and connection. Speed. Different walks.
Easy and useful moves for the social dance, leading transfer of

Noon - Tango Fundamentals Workshop
(Beginners welcome!!) working on technique
applied to social dance patterns. Changes of directions. Resources for
good navigation. Coordination and musicality. Flexibility of the
embrace.
1:30 - Vals -Rhythm and musicality for vals.
Specific figures in cross system. Use of the turns with syncopation
for vals; double time and pauses. 1 workshop $30; 2 workshops
$55; 3 or 4 workshops $25 each.

For October: Milonga con Traspie. Milonga is not
as technical as tango and is much more rhythm driven. While the music
may seem fast, there is less to think about. The dance is
