Local and Sonora tangueros attended a nice milonga Saturday with workshops by Marcelo Solis and Olga Matveeva.  This Week's Video  gives us another chance to enjoy their dancing.  Many also took private lessons with them on Sunday.  Many thanks to Conni for opening her home for the private lessons. Our next milonga will be on the first Friday of May, May 4; mark your calendars.

CALENDAR FOR THE WEEK

MONDAY - Tonight, April 16 & 23. Jacobs Fine Dining,  2501 McHenry. practica and social dancing.  7-9 p.m.  Come early for a meal. No fee, but you are encouraged to order food or drink off the menu.

WEDNESDAY - April 18, Beginner class at the Senior Center. 2:30 p.m.   211 Bodem (at Scenic). Enter through front door and sign in.  No fee.

SATURDAY - April 21  - Workshops and milonga with Marcelo Solis and Olga Matveeva. See above.

@>---- Saturday, April 28, Tango By The River, 128 J Street, Old Sacramento -- Kiss And  Tango Milonga!  if you needed an opportunity to share a kiss or two! Here are some tips and rules for the day:

1) There is no upper limit to the number of kisses you can share today. 2) It is  recommended  you limit your kisses to just one mate. 3) If you don't have a mate, it's perfectly acceptable to kiss someone who is not formally your mate.  4) You can kiss your mate wherever you want. 5) Giving candy or flowers is not required. But we predict that those who do will receive more kisses.  9 p.m.-1 a.m. Cost $10. DJ: Peter Baldridge.

Saturday, May 12, 2012 -- LEATHER AND LACE MILONGA! Let there be leather ... let there be lace ... or even a combination of the two! Have some fun! 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

Tango By The River, 128 J Street, Old Sacramento - 8-11 p.m.  Practilonga - combines the best of a practica and a milonga.  From 8 to 8:15 p.m, Donna will teach  a "Tango Tip for the Day."  It might be anything from refining technique in an embellishment, a step useful for navigating the dance floor, a stretch that is particularly good for dancers, etc.  $5 entry.
