FROM KENNY BELL: To
my beloved Modesto Tango group:
After much reflection and in
light of life’s changes, it is with a heavy heart that I share that
after more than 12 wonderful years, I will be stepping down as
Modesto’s Argentine tango instructor, effective at the end of June
2026. First and foremost, I would like to thank from the bottom of my
heart Mary Menz for her dedication and tireless efforts in promoting
and growing Argentine tango in Modesto, where it remains a premier
hub for Argentine tango in the Central Valley. Without her efforts,
we would not have had the opportunity to share this wonderful dance
together. I would like to thank all of the people, past and present,
who supported our classes through the years, even through the
shutdown period. You are the reason tango in Modesto thrives, because
without the continuing support and attendance of dancers at our
events, there would be no community to serve. Last but not least, I
would like to thank my partner in crime, Verna Tennyson, for her
partnership and dedication in contributing to the growth and
improvement of our Modesto community.
Though our regular
teaching in Modesto will come to a close, I’m happy to share that
we’ll continue classes just up the road at Tango by the River in
Sacramento. These lessons will take place on the 1st and 3rd
Saturdays of the month at 11 a.m. We would love to see you there.
Thank
you again, Modesto Tango community, for the years of continued love
and support. It’s truly felt like family, and I will treasure the
opportunity forever. Thank you for trusting me with your dance, and
inviting me into your community as your resident instructor. I hope
to make the most of the remaining time we share together in Modesto,
and look forward to seeing you on the dance floors in the wild.

practice at Urbanos. Kenny
and Verna return to Modesto on Saturday,April 25 for
another group lesson at Studio V, 4459 Spyres (off Bangs)
at 11 am.
Price
of a group lesson $20. Come as a couple for $30. Private
