VBoogie's  Dance Journey, our studio's new name, is still at "bare bones" level, but we can see the potential for the space, and anticipate improvement each week. Saturday we worked on "ocho cortado"  That is a move with many variations, and a great musicality tool. Our next milonga  is up in the air.  We had to postpone the one scheduled for May, and will keep you posted. 

CALENDAR FOR THE WEEK

MONDAY - Tonight, April  30 & May 7. Jacobs Fine Dining,  2501 McHenry. practica and social dancing.  7-9 p.m.  Come early for a meal. No fee, but you are encouraged to order food or drink off the menu.

WEDNESDAY - May 2, Beginner class at the Senior Center. 2:30 p.m.   211 Bodem (at Scenic). Enter through front door and sign in.  No fee.

SATURDAY - May 5  - 11 a.m. to noon. Class at VBoogie's Dance Journey, 711 10th Street. $10.  Summer classes are free to leaders (usually men) willing to dance with followers.  When we resume fees for all, free participants will be grand-fathered and continue free.  So if you know anyone who'd  like to get in under these circumstances, encourage them to join now.

Tango By The River, 128 J Street, Old Sacramento - 8-11 p.m.  Practilonga - combines the best of a practica and a milonga.  From 8 to 8:15 p.m, Donna will give a "Tango Tip for the Day."  It might be anything from refining technique in an embellishment, a step useful for navigating the dance floor, a stretch that is particularly good for dancers, etc.  $5 entry.
