Thursday, Nov 12:  Tango Argentino
The Stockton Empire Theatre
Featuring:  Quinteto Del Bailongo

Tango Argentino, An Evening of Tango Music and Dance.
This exciting show brings together emerging local artists who share a common love for art, music and  dance.
Featuring a full five-piece band, the show has everything you could ask for in authentic Argentine  tango.
Two distinguished dancers will also be part of the show, our own Sean and Charity.  They have gained recognition for their passionate interpretations of the dance.

Local Spanish guitarist, Jesse Hendricks will open the evening with his group, Spanish Nights.

About the band, Quinteto Del Bailongo
A chance encounter between five musicians in the dance halls of the San Francisco tango scene and a quintet is born.
All five members are active social dancers,  and a few random discussions about tango music led them to discover each others background in music. Diana Rowan (piano) holds an advanced  degree in piano performance, Mayumi Urgino (violin) and Julian Ramil (bandoneon) both graduated with
music degrees while Jesse Ramada (guitar) and Glenn Corteza (bass) got their training in the field, playing with different ensembles starting .

About the dancers, Sean and Charity
Sean Dockery and Charity Lebron's tango incorporate various styles and techniques   that they have learned, explored and practiced in 17 years of dancing Argentine Tango.
Sean began dancing tango in 2002, when he was learning about the music in his study of classical guitar.  Since then his life has been submerged in the dance.
Charity first started dancing Tango as an escape from  teaching   other dance forms in 1999.  Tango brought both of them to the San Francisco Area, where they  began teaching and performing together in 2005.
Their Style reflects a   respect for and involvement in the music, as well as an embrace of the various techniques and styles of the dance.
It is rooted in tradition, yet is explorative and new.
Their dance can be sharp and rhythmic, at times smooth and flowing.
