Dear Friends
I am attaching a draft response of the History Department forwarded by
Prof Shahid Amin on the Proposal of the Empowered Committee on the
Major-Minor System in the Undergraduate Programme. It neatly captures
the various problems with the proposal and the undemocratic,
bureaucratic way it is being forced through.
We have to get together to resist the forced implementation of this
proposal. Hope to see all of you at the Department meeting tomorrow, 11
December 2009 , at 11.30 am. Please spread the message to your
departments and to all other concerned teachers and academicians.
