Seminar on 1857 at JDM College

Janki Devi Memorial College is hosting a two day interdisciplinary
seminar on 1857, on the 5th and 6th of December 2006. The Theme of the
seminar is Regionalism, Religiosity and Ramifications of the Revolt of
1857. the Seminar is jointly organized by the History, Hindi, Sanskrit
and the Music departments of JDMC, and is sponsored by ICHR.
The Keynote speaker for the seminar is William Darlympole. Prof. Amar
Farooqi (DU),Mahmood Farooqi (Jamia),Kapil Kumar (IGNOU) are among the
other speakers. Prof.Narayani Gupta has graciously agreed to chair a
session of inter-college student presentations on the theme. Your
students are welcome to present papers on 1857. The presentations should
be of 5-10 minutes duration. This session will be on the 6th.
