Well, I can't speak for anybody else, but it seems our games have been on the horribly-depressing-and-awful side lately.
Which is fun (for a certain value of fun), but I've been wanting something a little lighter lately. As such I will have a game of Golden Sky Stories ready to run for our next Indie Game Night, August 7th.
GSS is from Ryo Kamiya, who previously made Maid, the quirky RPG taking on the maid trope from Japanese anime.
Golden Sky Stories is a game of "heart-warming role-playing" for 2-4 players (I can make it work with more) where you play as an animal spirit inspired by Japanese mythology in an idealized rural Japanese setting. Don't worry if you aren't very knowledgeable about Japan or Japanese mythology: per the game itself, if you are familiar with the works of Hayao Miyazaki, you're all set.
Will you take human form to blend in and cause minor mischief, or find out more about the humans in the town? Or will you use your magic powers to help the humans from afar?
Please join us next week for a game with no antagonists, where the goal is to turn sad stories into happy stories.
