Students of History Department and Parivesh invite you to " Silencing the Past : fascist assaults on academic freedom"  a Public Meeting  on Friday , Nov 4th, at 2 pm in Room no. 22, Faculty of Arts , on the removal of A K Ramanujan's essay "Three Hundred Ramayans: Five Examples and Three Thoughts on Translation" from the Delhi University undergraduate syllabus in a shameful surrender of academic freedom and autonomy in the face of protests by right wing groups. Speakers for the even include- Prof. Harbans Mukhia (noted historian and former Prof. at JNU),  Dillip Simeon (social and political  commentator, formerly at DU),  Nandini Sundar (Dept. of Sociology, DU) among others.
Do Join us in our fight to defend academic freedom and resist the 'saffronisation' of higher education in our Universities.
