Didn't he once do a show called Mouthing Off with Jimmy Pardo? I hear
that can be hazardous to your health.

Jeez, he looked pretty good for his age!

Warren was a great comic and a nice guy. I have to say I'm kind of
blown away by the response here. Stu, he's a local hero where you
live. He won that stupid competition back when it meant something.
You ought to perhaps be ashamed of yourself.
Compared to other comedians who have died, the treatment here is...
surprising. I'll look elsewhere for information.

Unfortunately the news traveled slowly. There was nothing about him in
the local SF paper, the LA Times or in the NY Times. There will be a
tribute to him this Sunday at the Punchline in SF -

Warren Thomas
>From comic Byron Yee:
I haven't seen anything posted about the passing of comic Warren
Thomas who died a little over three weeks ago but word did not spread
until last Monday. I'm not the best person to furnish an obit for him
but I wanted to get the word out for all those who knew and loved him.
Warren Thomas, a San Francisco comedy legend and past winner of the
SF Comedy Competition, passed away earlier this month in New York City.
He was one of the giants of the San Francisco comedy scene in the late
80's and early 90's and was deserving of being known as a comic's
comic. Watching Warren riff on stage was like listening to jazz. His
bits would always spin out of control and he was infamous for doing
everything to lose the crowd, only to bring them back. There will be a
rememberance for Warren Thomas on Sunday evening, October 9th, at the
San Francisco Punchline.
