Are you a developer or know developers who would want to collaborate
in building a new world simulation? This world would exhibit all the
characteristics and human behaviours of the free software movement.
This world would be the anti-world, a Third Life not based on profit,
commerce but would pilot a world on new values: a living WITOPIA.
There could be two approaches to building it: an ambitious one, and a
more modest one.
The ambitious one would be for a group of developers and graphic
designers to come together and start building a new instance of Second
Life on the basis of the open source released a few weeks ago.
The more modest approach would be for a graphic designer and a couple
of developers to build a prototype or even a mock up of what this
world would look like using some basic rules inspired from the free
software movement.

I believe that ModelEarth (just a working "nomiker") has similar
ambitions to Mikatopia/Witopia;
the differences I see is that Modelearth seeks to be inputed by
virtualy any/everyone who cares to have a satisfactory future--the
differences in opinion to be resolved in an ongoing model.
Would someone knowledgeable care to comment on the doability of having
the model "residing" on "distributed computing" net?
Thanks, Hearthstone.
