My wife and I own a 1931 Ford Model A Phaeton. The car has been in my
wife's family since 1938, my wife and I have had the car garaged for
close to ten years (we were scared to have any mechanic work on the
Riley engine), We have finally found a good mechanic who lives about
one mile from our home and we have finally fixed the car and done all
of the engine work, (all except the leaking oil, which I now understand
all 1931 Model A's leak oil.)

My question is does anyone know where I can find an oil anti-drip pan?
Apparently since all model A's leak oil, I have been told there is a
bolt on sheet metal anti-drip pan that prevents oil from dripping. I
have called Bratton's Automotive, Snyder's, MAC Auto, Lebaron Bonney
and J.C. Whitney with not much luck.

Can anyone recommend where I can find this anti-drip pan? Is this a
pan that can be left on while driving the car?

Thank You!

Try Berts in Colorado. You will talk to an owner of a Model A since all
employees own a Model A.I f they can't help you they can advise you where
you may purchase one. Ray Mayers.

Your great A is probably leaking oil from the rear main bering crank shaft location, (the most common area),  MAC's antique parts now sells a rear main seal kit to install and remove the old rear main seal.... They also sell the drip pan item you are looking for . On line at : MacsAutoParts.com or order a catalog at
800-777-0948...   This repair kit is a brand new item and it is amazing how it is installed by just removing the oil pan, also order a new oil pan gasket... Most of the antique auto parts places have some one on the phone to explain their products, good luck!!  www.mayorgarysgarage.com

Mike's "A" Ford-able has the pan, called "The Janitor" PN# A6768
costs about $22, and well worth it. It has saved many nice driveways.
Call Mike's at 706-652-3866, or toll free at 1-888-879-6453
Hope it works out for you,
