does the Modbus-tk handle CRC responses?

Hello:

Pardon the basic question on this but I have just started to use a real PLC to act as a master to my slave code. The PLC is not seeing a response from me (the slave). I do not have any CRC or response related code in my slave. The library code handles all of that I assume. Is that a wrong assumption?
