Hi Luc

I am trying to use Modbus_tk for my project where I wish to read data from different meters that I dont know of.

I wish the code to automatically read the register addresses that have Input data fro the slaves on RTU RS485 (i.e between 30000 to 39999). I cannot really define the exact registers to be read with size or Hi Lo.

Please advise if this can be done since the example just fetches value from one register for size that is defined

I have limited modbus knowledge and trying to learn

Thanks

Hello,

That’s very difficult to help you to configure your devices by email. I am sorry but you need to read carefully the doc of the slaves in order to setup your config. Thanks for your understanding.

Best

Hi Luc

I am developing a master and want to read data from slave meters (Schneider, Veris, abb etc.)

The point is that many have different register structures, I just want to know if I can have them dynamically defined such that irrespective on the kind and make of meter, if it is in the rs485 string, we can get the data withouth defining unique register structure for each of them and changing the code or making custome code in the master for each. A bit like Schneider Com X gateway

Please advise

Regards
