i don't know of such a port, but you can use modalbox along side jqery if you enable no conflict mode in jquery.

Does anyone know of a working ModalBox port/clone for jQuery?
I've been using ModalBox for a couple of years now in a Rails project
and love it .. but I've got to upgrade to Rails3.0, want to use jQuery
for speed and modernity, and would like to keep my existing ModalBox
usage .. but NOT use prototype anymore.
