Does anyone know of a working ModalBox port/clone for jQuery?

I've been using ModalBox for a couple of years now in a Rails project
and love it .. but I've got to upgrade to Rails3.0, want to use jQuery
for speed and modernity, and would like to keep my existing ModalBox
usage .. but NOT use prototype anymore.

i don't know of such a port, but you can use modalbox along side jqery if you enable no conflict mode in jquery.

Thanks! but side-by-side is not an option; I want to be free of prototype completely; I need the speed.
I've been looking at the ModalBox javascript code .. it seems as though a port to jquery would be fairly easy... what do you think?

if you have time and will to write it, why not :)
you're wellcome to it, i don't think the author will mind, after all it is an open source project

Good to hear, I was thinking of porting it to YUI :)

I'll post the URL if I ever do so. Since Prototype seems to be sort of obsolete now, would the project owner be willing to audit the code for these projects and perhaps help direct users there?

Because i didn't find such port, i started to write one. You can find it on bitbucket:

The port hasn't the full functionality yet the original modalbox has, because i only implemented my needs, but your welcome to use it as a basis for implementations of your needs ...
