Yup, I finally figured that out. Had to patch Prototype in a couple of places.
Will MS ever release a browser that doesn't give Web Devs a reason to hate them? :D

it's not really a modalbox issue, the problem itself lies in the prototype library the modalbox is based on

I've noticed the same problem with the windowwrapper z-index as the
earlier poster, but it isn't the only problem. Is there anybody
currently using ModalBox with IE clients? Is there a "fixed" version
of the code on github anywhere?
